Handmade New Stained Glass Windows

At Cooper O’Neil Stained Glass we design, build, and install handmade stained glass windows. From rowhome transom windows to custom church windows, our craftspeople make beautiful light for beautiful spaces.

A design/build story- residential space: In 2022 a client came to us with a challenge: a set of rotting, sealed-shut French doors that had become a literal eyesore in a client’s living room. Could we design some stained glass for this space that brought in more light and removed the rotting wood?

After a collaborative design session we decided to create a full-scale stained glass picture window. The client envisioned a blend of organic beauty and privacy, so we curated a selection of eye-catching wavy textures paired with intricate floral elements. To ensure this large work of art was as safe as it was beautiful, we encapsulated the stained glass inside a tempered insulated glass unit (IGU). The result? A drafty, unused corner was reborn as a permanent, inspiring gallery piece.

The client was thrilled.

Design story: A chapel on a tight schedule.

In 2023 a school reached out to us about their chapel expansion project. They were adding to their historic chapel and needed additional stained glass windows that would closely match existing windows in their space. They had a group of educators, administrators, and board members who worked with us to determine the content they were looking for in these windows. We took those decisions and designed 11 new windows that fit their style exactly.

Their construction project had a hard end-date, a scheduled graduation ceremony in the space. We put all hands onto this project and produced and installed all 11 windows in a packed 4 months. The final result was perfect- the windows were the jewel on the crown of the project. The client has continued to commission both new and restoration projects from us for their facilities.
